Could our assets release some cash?

Equipment or property holds value that you may want to use elsewhere in the business.

The situation

You may own machinery, vehicles or premises outright but need cash for a different business priority. Value in an asset is not the same as money available to spend, and existing borrowing may affect what is possible.

What might be worth exploring

Refinancing machinery or vehicles may release some of their value while you keep using them. Borrowing against premises follows a different assessment, based on the property and how the loan would be repaid. In either case, we would consider existing borrowing, the cash needed and what it would achieve.

What to think about

The value available depends on valuation and any existing borrowing. Compare repayments and total cost with the benefit of releasing cash. If repayments are not maintained, machinery or vehicles used as security can be at risk and property used as security may be repossessed.

How the conversation starts

Start with what you own, any borrowing attached to it and what you would use the cash for. We can then discuss whether releasing value makes sense.

Understanding your options

Every lender approaches funding differently. We'll explore the options available, including how the borrowing could be structured and whether any security or guarantees are needed. You'll know what's involved before making any decisions.
